Severance! The show’s second season is currently rolling out on Apple TV+, and if you are struggling to fill the hours each week until the next episode drops, I have some great news for you.
Apple TV+ is leaving no marketing effort unturned. They’ve already released the first eight chapters of Dr. Ricken Lazlo Hale, PhD’s book, The You You Are for your reading pleasure, and now there’s an eight-hour video where you can listen to “music you can refine to,” featuring the talents of the electronic musical duo, ODESZA.
That’s right! Eight unfiltered hours of Severance-ness. Something that any Innie or Outtie can appreciate! I’ve listened to about an hour so far, and it’s eerie and awesome and impressive that ODESZA put together eight freaking hours of this. Their music is set to clips from the show throughout, though the look of those clips are filtered to feel like we’re watching them on an old VCR tape.
This masterpiece is broken up into chapters as the workday continues, and includes sections like “Revere Kier,” “Refine Clusters,” “Purify Data,” and—of course—a “Music Dance Experience” starting at 3:38:45.
Enjoy on your own schedule. And remember: Lumon cares.
New episodes of Severance premiere on Apple TV+ on Thursdays. And if you’re watching and need moral support, check out Molly Templeton’s Severance recaps for Reactor!
